Ventramin – gastric mucous bioregulator
Ventramin is produced from the cattle and pig gastric mucous. It is a
nucleoprotein complex, which acts selectively on the gastric mucous cells and
promotes the recovery of gastric mucous function.
Clinical trials were conducted on 95 patients with chronic gastritis
accompanied by secretory insufficiency and those operated on for gastric or
duodendum ulcer and tumour. Control groups consisted of 52 similar patients who
underwent standard treatment.
Ventramin effectiveness was estimated with respect to the dynamics of
patients complaints, as well as through clinical blood and urine tests,
biochemistry, gastric secretion and fibrogastroscopy.
The results of clinical trials evidenced the efficiency of ventramin in
smoothing gastritis manifestations. The highest effect was registered in
patients of the older age group, whose fibroscopy revealed signs of gastric mucous
degeneration. Ventramin application resulted in appetite improvement and
elimination of dyspeptic disorders.
Decreased inflammation of the pyloric section of the gastric and
duodenal mucous, decreased amount of mucous and nutritional residues in the specimen
under study suggested increased secretory and evacuatory functions of the
stomach.
Normalization of digestion in patients with post-surgical disturbances
was definitely related to regulatory impact of ventramin not only on the
function of gastric and duodenal mucous cells, but also stimulation of enzyme
activity of duodenal contents.
Thus, the obtained results of clinical trials evidence the effectiveness
of ventramin and the expediency of its application in complex treatment of
chronic gastritis, surgery-associated disturbances of gastrointestinal
functions, gastric and/or duodendum ulcer in the period of remission, as well
as for prevention of various gastrointestinal disorders and their
complications.

Ventramin is recommended for accelerated recovery of the gastric and
duodenal mucous in its acute or chronic lesion, in case of malnutrition,
digestion disturbances and during post-surgical period. It is also recommended
for maintaining gastrointestinal functions in the elderly.
No side effects have been registered.
It should be stored in a dry cool light protected place.
