Thymusamin - immune
system bioregulator
Thymusamin is produced from the cattle and pig thymus. It is a
nucleoprotein complex, which acts selectively on immune system cells promoting
the recovery of immune functions.
Clinical trials were conducted on 117 patients exposed to long-term
influence of ionizing irradiation in small doses, including cancer patients
subjected to radio and chemotherapy. There were also enrolled patients with
postoperative pyo-inflammatory complications. Control groups consisted of 82
similar patients who underwent standard treatment.
Thymusamin effectiveness was estimated with respect to the dynamic of
patients' complaints, as well as through clinical blood and urine tests,
immunological examination of peripheral blood (count of T- and B-lymphocytes by
means of immunoflowrescence with monoclonal antibodies to differentiated
antigens of lymphocytes CD3, CD4, CD8, CD20; contents of immunoglobulins of
different classes by means of radial immunodiffusion in gel according to
Manchini; functional activity of T-lymphocytes by RTML with cConA);
investigation of tissue enzyme activity.
Following the course of thymusamin treatment patients noted significant
improvement of general state and decreased pronouncement of asthenic syndrome,
which always accompanies secondary immunodeficiencies. The patients with
pyo-inflammatory complications after surgical interventions revealed activation
of tissue enzymes evidencing intensive processes of cell metabolism in tissues
promoting intensive cleansing of wound surface from necrotic tissues and
facilitating wound epithelization. Stabilization of immunological reactivity
and activation of regeneration processes permits to decrease the terms of
purulent wound treatment. The patients exposed to radio- and/or chemotherapy
revealed accelerated normalization of immunological indices leading to the
improvement of general state and decreased the incidence of complications.

Thymusamin is recommended for accelerated recovery of immune system
functions after infectious diseases, exposure to chemo- and/or radiotherapy and
various adverse factors, including ionizing and microwave irradiation. It is
also recommended to the elderly for maintaining immune system functions.
Thymusamin application is favorable in combination with different drugs,
since the majority of diseases is accompanied by the suppression of the immune
system, while accelerated recovery of its functions with the aid of thymusamin
facilitates favorable course of the main disease.
No side effects have been registered.
It should be stored in a dry cool light protected place.
